London Collections: MEN AW16 | Day 4

Fourth and final day at LC:M AW16, a short review of the shows we attended from the following designers: Xander Zhou | Bobby Abley.   —

Day 4

Monday the 11th of January belonged to Xander Zhou, with rock music playing at the show and the exciting pieces shown it was the perfect scenario, almost felt like a homage to recently passed David Bowie. The whole collection was inspired by these words: “diversity, freedom, gender identity, harmony in contradiction, ambiguity, sexual fluidity, restructuring, obsession, fetish, beauty is not perfect, perfection is boring, inclusiveness and emancipation”. Sparkling skinny trousers, pointy boots, big coats and fur just spoke about a world changing into a rock genderless enviroment that break rules.

It was Bobby Abley’s turn to take us to Brazil. With his well known Disney inspired collections, this time he was drawn into the country of caipirinhas and speedos, inspired by a trip he took there last year, Bobby was really taken by the colors, the people and samba-fueled nights. With impeccable tailoring and a fun spin to a very colorful concept Bobby Abley is always one of the shows we die to see every season.
